Paul Rudd has been named the sexiest man in the world for 2021 by People magazine.
The actor, 52, known for comedy films like Presenter and his portrait of The ant Man in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, follows last year’s winner Michael B. Jordan to claim the title.
Talk to People Of this honor, Rudd said: “I have a good enough conscience to know that when people heard that I was chosen for this, they would say, ‘What? This is not false humility. There are so many people who should understand this before I do.
However, he expects “so much heartache” from his circle of friends over the victory.

“As they should. I would, ”added Rudd. “I mean I’m going to lean on it hard. I’ll own this. I’m not going to try and tell myself “Oh, I’m so modest”. I have business cards made. But all of my friends are going to destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why these are my friends.
He’s already received celebratory messages from former co-stars Seth Rogen and Mark Ruffalo. Sharing a photo of Rudd at Comic-Con on Twitter, Ruffalo wrote, “Is that Paul Rudd… #SexiestManAlive ?! I knew that day would come.
“. Hope you will continue to never grow old so that you can continue to hold this title.

Ryan Reynolds, who won the title in 2010, also weighed in on Rudd’s victory in the Today show Wednesday (November 10), joking that the opportunity “will be wasted with him”.
“I think this opportunity will be wasted for him, like so many before him,” said Reynolds. “He’s going to play shy. He will play it shy, humble. If I knew what I know now, I wouldn’t. You must seize the opportunity.
“If I got it now, I’m not saying I would leave my family, but they should go on without me.” I roamed the world clutching my dog-eared People magazine, going from town to town, sowing my wild oats like some sort of naked, magical gardener. That would be great.”
Rudd had his pivotal role playing Mike Hannigan in Friends in 2002. He has since starred in various comedies by Judd Apatow, such as Presenter, The 40-year-old virgin and In blister. In recent years he has been defined by Marvel’s role The ant Man, with independent films and crossover blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame.
His next projects include the Apple TV + series The narrowing next door facing Will Ferrell, and Ghostbusters: the afterlife which hits theaters on November 19.
