“I have business cards made”

Paul Rudd was named the sexiest man alive in 2021 by People magazine.

The 52-year-old actor, known for comedic films like Presenter and its representation of The ant Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, follows last year’s winner Michael B. Jordan to claim the title.

Talk to People of the honor, Rudd said, “I have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’m going to be chosen for this, they’ll be like, ‘What? This is not false humility. There are so many people who should have this before me.

However, he expects “so much grief” from his circle of friends over the victory.

” Like it should be. I would,” Rudd added. “I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I will own this. I’m not going to try to be like, ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I have business cards made. But all my friends are going to destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they are my friends.

He has already received celebratory messages from former co-stars Seth Rogen and Mark Ruffalo. Sharing a photo of Rudd at Comic-Con on Twitter, Ruffalo wrote, “Is that Paul Rudd… #SexiestManAlive?! I knew this day would come.

“Congratulations, man. I hope you will continue to never grow old so that you can continue to hold this title.

Ryan Reynolds, who won the title in 2010, also weighed in on Rudd’s victory in the Today show on Wednesday, November 10, joking that the opportunity “will be ruined for him”.

“I think this opportunity will be wasted for him, like so many before him,” Reynolds said. “He’s going to play it shy. He will play it shy, humble. If I knew what I know now, I wouldn’t. You have to seize the opportunity.

“If I had it now, I’m not saying I would leave my family, but they would have to go on without me. I would travel the world, clutching my dog-eared People magazine, going from town to town, sowing my wild oats like some sort of magical naked gardener. That would be great.”

Rudd had his breakthrough role playing Mike Hannigan in Friends in 2002. Since then, he has starred in various Judd Apatow comedies, such as Presenter, The 40 year old virgin and knocked up. In recent years, he’s been defined by the role of Marvel’s The ant Manfeatured in standalone films and crossover blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame.

His next projects include the Apple TV+ series The narrowing next door opposite Will Ferrell, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife which hits theaters on November 19.
